Our Trip to Langeoog (Group 7)

We started the activities the 11th of june. First of all we were organized in groups, and we are in the 7 group, the green one.

Our group had to go to an island to see the water tower and how water can be re-used.

In the morning, we arrived at the station ship at 10:30, then at 11:30 we went to the ferry that was going to brought us to the island Langeoog. When we were on the ferry we were excited because it would be a good experience. When we arrived we take a train to go to the little village. Secondly we saw an exposition about how the water is taken.

The exposition said the water is taken in a different way than in other places. When it rains the water falls in the ground and then is taken and that system is called '' Lend water ''.

They explained to us that in Langeoog are half million of tourists then people who are living here all the year, because there are only 2000 people. There is a street on Langeoog where you can not drive cars because that's the place where the water is taken. '' The infohaus altes wasserwerk'' it's the place where you can taste the sweet water accumulate in the plant from the island, then the salt water falls into the bottom and the sweet water stays on the top. The water of Langeoog is often analyze to prove that the quality of the water is good. OOWV is a company that secures the best pure water in the world.

Our Trip to Spiekeroog (Group 5)

Our group had make a trip to Spiekeroog with a fishing boat. In the morning we had drive by bus to the seaport. We had go to the island with a fishing boat. On the boat, we had go to fishing. Then we had put the 55 shrimps, the 37 Commom Shore crabs (males), the 6 Common Shore crabs (females), the 3 swim crabs (males), the 1 swim crab (female), the 1 Hermit crab and the 2 Plaice in some glass boxes. Then we had different the males and females and we had count it and had take the size of the sea animals. After that we had see some seals at the sandbank. Roger, our tourguide sad that we had a big problem in the oceans because there are 6.2 million tones plastic. After we had put the sea animals back in the northsea, we had go to the island.

Water Educational Trail in Nethen (Group 8)

On Wedensday the 11th June 2014 during our project "EuroWater" in Wittmund we´re met students from Spain, Poland, Denmark, Germany and Netherlands in the mensa.

 

Our Work in "Wattenmeerhaus" (Group 1)

Our work in "Wattenmeerhaus"

At First, we all met us in the canteen. There we met our groups and teachers. Than we got T-shirts with the colour of group. Next we went to the bus station and we left. At 11:00 o'clock we arrived to Wattenmeerhaus in Wilhelmshaven. There told us a woman about German edge and German islands. Later we shared in two groups. First group learned about crabs and else animals in the sea.

At the same time, second group made experiments about the concentration of salt in water in Northsea and in the drinking water. Then we changed the exercises. After that we can look through the museum alone. At 13:20 we went to the beach. There we had 2 hours free time. At 15:30 we went to downtown of Wilhelmshaven. Everyone had time to eat and for shopping. At 18:00 o'clock we took to the bus and we came back to school in Wittmund. There we go to our hostfamilies.

RUZ Schortens

We drive by bus in the environmental centre. There we met Bernd Uwe Janssen who lead us through the day. At first he gave us a short introduction. Then we walked to Hundertste lake. Four people had to go into the water to measure the water equality. The others got landing nets from the lake to catch animals. They should let their nets at the bottom of the lake to got plants and sand inside. Then they have to put everthing in a white dish and put the leaves away.

Everything that moves is an animal. After you find some animals you have to filled in the glas with the help of the pipet, but the animals were to big you haven to put in on spoon than filled into the class. After we went back to the RUZ house and there we saw the animals under the microscope we found Nonbiting Midges, Water Mite, Backswimmer, dragonflies larva and Water Flea. All these animals are indicators for the water equality.
